Carbon Credits

Carbon credits are used in attempts to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. One ton of carbon equals one carbon credit. Carbon credits are traded on the voluntary and compliance markets.

Carbon credits come in the following two forms:

Carbon Offset Credits (COC's)

Created through the use of renewable or clean energy production, including wind, solar, hydro and biofuels.

Carbon Reduction Credits (CRC's)

Created through the collection and storage of Carbon from the atmosphere through biosequestration projects, which involve reforestation and/or forestation efforts, as well as ocean and soil collection and storage efforts.
